LAGSCA AT THE CHINA NATIONAL GAMES IN NOVEMBER 2025

The Opening Ceremony of the National Games 

Representatives of the LAGSCA attended the Opening Ceremony of the National Games on Nov. 9, 2025.  China’s 15th National Games officially opened on November 9, 2025 at the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center in Guangzhou, marking the first time the country’s flagship multi-sport event was co-hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

A delegation from the LAGSCA including Co President Fred Hong and Gene Seroka, Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles, along with other members and guests, attended  the opening ceremony. The ceremony combined a stadium show and short addresses highlighting regional cooperation within the Greater Bay Area. 

As part of the event, the delegation visited the Guangzhou City Hall to personally present a Congratulatory Certificate from Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass to Guangzhou Mayor Sun regarding the hosting of the National Games. The delegation attended a reception and dinner hosted by the city of Guangzhou at the Garden hotel Pavilion Room to welcome the Los Angeles representatives to Guangzhou. The U.S. consul representatives we present as well. The delegation also visited the Friendship Garden in Yuexiu Park, and the Display Center to see LAGACA's 40th Anniversary gift to Guangzhou.

The Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Office had facilitated the attendance of the LAGSCA delegation at the spectacular event continuing our long tradition of cooperation and exchange.
