Mayor's Youth Ambassadors Program
with LAGSCA

The Young Ambassadors Initiative (YA) provides international travel experiences for community college students from the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD). It aims to build cross-cultural competencies and develop personal and professional skills. The Mayor's Young Ambassadors program (MaYA) has sent students to various international locations, fostering leadership, cultural awareness, and personal growth. The LAGSCA has partnered with MaYa to send a group of students to Guangzhou and Beijing China since 2024.

These trips have been very successful leading to a number of the student participants returning to China to renew friendships and learn more about culture and the way of life there. The Young Ambassadors are active members of the LAGSCA.
